Two men and a woman were charged Sunday in the kidnapping of a 7-year-old boy who was snatched for a 25,600-dollar ransom then found tied up in a car boot in Hong Kong, the dpa reported.

The two men, aged 21 and 30, and the 26-year-old woman were among six people arrested Thursday for kidnapping the boy from a bus stop while on his way to school.

A massive manhunt was launched after the boy's father, a chef, received a phone call five hours later demanding a ransom of 200,000 Hong Kong dollars (25,600 US dollars) for his safe return.

That evening, police stopped a car with four men inside and the boy was found lying in the boot with his hands and legs bound. He was traumatized but uninjured.

The three people charged were being held by police Sunday and were due to appear in Hong Kong's Kowloon City Magistrates Court Monday charged with kidnapping, a police spokesman said.
