Iran Deports 30,000 Refugees in Nov

Afghanistan, Kabul, 2 December / corr Trend A.  Hakimi/   The Afghan government asks Iranian authority to stop deporting refugees in winter.

The Ministry of Refugees (MOR) claims that Iran has deported 30,000 Afghan refugees last month.

The MOR has stated that if the deportations continue, promising Afghans big problems. They have asked the Iranian government to stop their actions.

According to UNHCR, the UN's refugee monitoring agency, two million Afghan refugees reside in Iran, but only half are now legally entitled to stay.

UNHCR has stated that they are not responsible for illegal refugees. They have urged a new round of talks between Iran and Afghanistan to resolve the ongoing issue.

Meanwhile, MPs say that deportation of Afghan refugees a political issue and Iran wants to keep Afghan government under pressure.
