President of Pakistan: Statement of US on Deploy of Troops to Pakistan is Unproductive in Struggle against Terrorism

Recent statement of the US on possible territorial operation in Pakistan may lead to contrary effect in struggle against terrorism, has stated The President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf, reported RBK quotes Associated Press.

Musharraf has stated that Islamabad stand by struggle against terrorism, but noted that "only defence forces of Pakistan, which possess full fighting, can hold territorial actions on the territory of the country".

"The recent statement of the US on possible deploy of troops to Pakistan may have a contrary and negative effect on interaction and coordination of forces of both countries in struggle against the international terrorism," Musharraf said.

Furthermore, Musharraf expressed dissatisfaction of the legislation, signed by the President of the US, George W.Bush. In compliance with the legislation the allocation of financial aid to Pakistan in struggle against terrorism should be approved by the US Congress on the base of submitted evidences on Pakistan has been held progressive struggle against international terrorism of Al-Qaeda and radical Islamic movement of Taliban on the territory of the country.

G.W.Bush stated on 6 August that The US and Pakistan troops can hold successful operations against Al-Qaeda, hidden in mountain regions of the country on the border with Afghanistan.
