The Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) decided to hold regular meetings of representatives of competent bodies of SCO member-states to exchange operational information in the field of combating terrorism, separatism and extremism to deepen cooperation with these phenomena.
It was stated in an information report on the sixteenth meeting of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Council, held in Tashkent on Friday. Representatives of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan attended the meeting.
The SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Council strongly condemned the terrorist attacks made in the Russian Federation in March 2010, which led to numerous casualties. It expressed the need to further consolidate the efforts of the SCO member-states in combating terrorism.
A group will be established to coordinate joint actions against the illegal activities of one of the major international terrorist organizations within the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Council, the report said.
The Council decided to conduct joint anti-terror exercises of the competent authorities of the SCO member-states in Russia this year.

The comprehensive measures of SCO member-states to promote the Russian Federation in ensuring the safety of activities dedicated to celebration of the 65-th anniversary of victory in Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, held in Russia, in securing the regular meeting of the Council of SCO Member-States presidents in Tashkent were approved.
The next meeting of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Council will be held in Almaty in September 2010.
