Alasania discusses electoral environment, Georgia’s constitutional reforms in United States

The electoral environment and constitutional reforms of Georgia was the main topic of the Georgian Free Democrats leader Irakli Alasania's visit to the U.S.

Alasania's visit to the United States was held from Nov.13 to 23. During the visit, according to Alasania, he met with the US .President's advisor for Russian affairs Michael McFaul and adviser on European and adviser on the European and Eurasian Affairs Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall. The topic was the negotiations initiated with the authorities and evidence of oppression of businessmen.

Alasania met with the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Tina Kaidanow at the State Department. The main topic of conversation was the electoral environment and media freedom issues.

Speaking at George Washington University, the Atlanta Council and Columbia University, Alasania informed American diplomats with political processes that are underway in Georgia.

After the visit to the U.S. Alasania has left for Brussels to meet with EU representatives.
