Georgia, Tbilisi, August 6 /Trend, N.Kirtskhalia /
Georgia is ready for a civilized and friendly relations with Russia, but only in case the latter respects its territorial integrity and unity and pursues a non-aggressive policy, said today at a special briefing the press secretary of Georgian President commenting on the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's interview in Sochi with Russia Today TV, Echo of Moscow radio and Georgian PIK TV.
Manana Manjgaladze called Medvedev's attitude to the "ethnic cleansing of Georgians, military aggression and occupation of Georgian territory" in August 2008 "alarming" and "cynical".
"It is very dangerous that Medvedev believes that aggression against Georgia was a lesson for others countries", she said.
Manjgaladze stressed that in his interview the Russian president almost openly admitted that his country's government does not intend to seek the organizers of the terrorist attacks in Georgia.
"Medvedev said that no investigation of these facts will be held and that [Russia's involvement in the terrorist acts] is "a lie and a provocation"," she said.
Press secretary of the Georgian president said that the tone of the Russian president "largely looked like a Cold War rhetoric".
"Meanwhile, Medvedev did not avoid insults to Georgia's friendly countries and U.S. Senate," she said.
Despite this, noted Manjgaladze, the Georgian authorities are still ready for talks with Russia in case they are respected by official Moscow.
