A 33-year-old man died from AIDS in Georgia. The Georgian AIDS center told Trend that this is the first HIV death in August.
The cause of death was hepatitis C and cirrhosis of the liver, resulting from immunosuppression.
About 66 people, including 55 men, died of AIDS in Georgia in 2011.
About 251 new cases of infection have been filed this year. Overall, about 900 patients affected with the human immunodeficiency virus are receiving treatment.
