BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 20. A delegation led by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Gendarmerie Forces of the Republic of Türkiye, General of the Army Ali Chardakchi, has arrived in Azerbaijan at the invitation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan told Trend.
Turkish delegation visited the Alley of Honor and laid flowers at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev, honored his memory.
Then the guests visited the Eternal Flame complex in the Alley of Martyrs and the Baku Turkish Martyrs' Memorial.
Chardakchi and his delegation have been welcomed by Vilayat Eyvazov.
Welcoming the guests, the minister noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan's relations with Türkiye have always steadily developed, and emphasized the merits of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in this area.
Eyvazov also noted that the great leader's "one nation, two states" policy was successfully implemented by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Besides, according to the minister, thanks to the political will and mutual visits of the heads of state, relations between the two friendly and fraternal countries have entered a qualitatively new stage.
Eyvazov also pointed out that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs pays great attention to expanding cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, including with the General Command of the Gendarmerie.
He stressed the great merits of the General Command of the Gendarmerie of Türkiye in the formation of the Internal Troops, their transformation into a structure that meets the most modern requirements, and further improving the professionalism of the personnel, and expressed gratitude for this.
Thanking for the warm welcome and detailed information, Chardakchi noted his satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan, the fact that Baku is one of the most beautiful capitals in the world, one of the safest cities, the dynamic, rapid development of Azerbaijan, and with the fact that the Internal Troops have become a mobile structure with high professionalism and combat capability.
He highly appreciated the useful cooperation between the relevant authorities of the two countries, stressing that Türkiye, as "one nation, two states", has always been close to Azerbaijan and will continue to make efforts to develop the army, the Internal Troops of Azerbaijan, and that cooperation, exchange of experience will serve the interests of the two fraternal peoples and countries.
A number of issues of interest to the parties were discussed at the meeting.
Then, in the Main Department of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan - Commander of the Internal Troops, Lieutenant-General Shahin Mammadov, and a delegation led by Chardakchi.
Lieutenant General Shahin Mammadov noted an even greater expansion of friendship and military cooperation between the General Command of the Turkish Gendarmerie and the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, informed the guests in detail about the combat path of the country's Internal Troops in the 2020 second Karabakh war and their further development.
During the visit, the delegation of friendly and fraternal Türkiye got acquainted with the organization of training at the Higher Military School of the Internal Troops, and the conditions created for cadets, including military units located in Baku.
