ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 2. Turkmenistan's agro-industrial complex achieved a production growth rate of 125.4 percent from January through July 2024, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangriguli Atahalliyev reported during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting, Trend reports.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the results of work completed over the past seven months and addressed the country's socio-economic development issues.
Atahalliyev detailed the performance of various entities within the complex. The Ministry of Agriculture reached a growth rate of 104.1 percent, the Ministry of Environmental Protection 100 percent, the State Committee of Water Management 134.6 percent, and the Turkmenpagta (Turkmen Cotton) state concern 101.3 percent.
Additionally, the deputy chair highlighted that the Turkmen Galla Onumleri (grain storage and processing) state association achieved an impressive growth rate of 225.9 percent, while the Turkmenobahyzmat (agricultural machinery) saw a 115 percent increase. The Food Industry, Livestock and Poultry Industry state association, and Turkmen atlary (Turkmen horses) also contributed to the overall growth, with rates of 100.3 percent, 105.5 percent, and 101.5 percent, respectively.
The plan for investment utilization was notably fulfilled by 434.1 percent, reflecting strong financial support for the sector's development.
Following the report of the deputy chair, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that ongoing reforms in the agro-industrial complex should prioritize increasing the production of quality agricultural products and ensuring food abundance.
