BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Azerbaijan's crude oil production in September 2024 reached an estimated 488,000 barrels per day (b/d), Trend reports.
OPEC's latest figures indicate a rise of 6,000 b/d compared to August 2024, when production stood at 482,000 b/d. This also marks an increase of 1,000 b/d from July 2024.
In the first quarter of 2024, Azerbaijan's average daily crude output was 477,000 b/d, followed by a decrease to 475,000 b/d in the second quarter of the current year. In the third quarter, production slightly increased to 486,000 b/d.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan produced 21.6 million tons of oil and condensate from January through September 2024. Out of this volume, 17.9 million tons were exported, primarily through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline. During the same period in 2023, production reached 22.7 million tons, with 19 million tons exported.
Azerbaijan produced approximately 30 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons in 2023, and the target for this year is also around 30 million tons.
