ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 8. An online platform for labor market analysis and workforce training will be launched in Kazakhstan, said Svetlana Zhakupova, Kazakhstan's Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, at a government meeting, Trend reports.
Zhakupova emphasized that the online platform covers 755 investment initiatives with a plan to create 150,000 jobs.
Then she added that the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Kazakhstan has developed the Innovation Navigator for Projects in order to effectively plan workforce training and analyze the employment situation.
As part of ensuring a qualified workforce for the economy, and following a directive from the President of Kazakhstan, 1,600 professional standards for trades have been updated. Based on these standards, 87 percent of educational programs have been updated. Additionally, an electronic skills bank has been created, encompassing over 12,000 skills using EU standards. This year, another 100 professional standards will be developed and updated.
To note, more than half of all employed Kazakhstani citizens (52 percent) have vocational or technical education. This amounts to about 2.3 million people working in over 2,000 trades. The high demand for such specialists is confirmed by the large number of job openings—more than 270,000 last year.
