ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 10. The Dostyk-Alashankou transport hub in Kazakhstan has hit the ground running, setting a new freight turnover record of 18 million tons, Trend reports via Kazakhstan Railways.

"The new record not only highlights the importance of the hub for international logistics but also serves as an inspiring example for further achievements," noted Kazakhstan Railways.

In celebration of the groundbreaking achievement, more than 65 team members were recognized with prestigious medals and distinguished certificates of honor. Recognized in this prestigious event were the top-tier specialists from the Dostyk station, high-performing employees from the Alashankou station, and the leading institutions, exceptional staff, and visionary managers of the Dostyk hub.

“Work in this direction will continue, accompanied by new achievements,” said Nurym Zhaniyazov, Director of the Almaty Branch of Freight Transportation.

According to him, the development strategy for the Dostyk-Alashankou transport hub will help maintain high performance and strengthen its position at the international level.

To note, the previous freight turnover record at this junction was established in 2013 (17,751,000 tons). After 11 years, the team has once again delivered an excellent performance, achieving a new record of 18 million tons.
