BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 22. Snam has presented its 2025-2029 Strategic Plan, outlining a total investment of 12.4 billion euros, an 8% increase compared to the previous plan, Trend reports.
The strategy emphasizes two key areas: enhancing gas infrastructure and advancing energy transition initiatives.
Energy transition investments account for 1.5 billion euros, an increase from the previous plan. Key focus areas include carbon capture and storage (500 million euros), development of a hydrogen backbone (380 million euros), biomethane initiatives (270 million euros), and energy efficiency projects (250 million euros).
Snam’s plan underscores its commitment to sustainability and preparing infrastructure for future energy demands, including the integration of hydrogen and low-carbon technologies.
Meanwhile, the majority of the investment, 10.9 billion euros, is allocated to gas infrastructure projects across the midstream value chain. This includes upgrades to transport and storage systems to support resilience and sustainability.
