BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11. During the initial two months of the current fiscal year, a substantial reimbursement of value-added tax (VAT) amounting to over 30.7 million manat (approximately $18 million) was disbursed to end-users in Azerbaijan as part of the VAT return initiative.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Tax Service shows that the sum was reimbursed for commodities acquired in commercial transactions or hospitality establishments (excluding petroleum derivatives, automobiles, alcoholic commodities, and tobacco items), in addition to medical services rendered by healthcare facilities and practitioners operating in private medical practice.
Furthermore, due to the augmentation of the project parameters, an excess of 6.2 million manat ($3.6 million) in value-added tax for both residential and non-residential parcels acquired through non-cash transactions by end-users from construction entities has been reimbursed.
