ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 1. Kazakh company Qazaq Astyq Group is implementing a project in the Abai region to build a new refined vegetable oil production line, with a production capacity of 200 tons of refined oil per day, Trend reports.

The launch is scheduled for 2025, and following the start-up, the company will produce up to 72,000 tons of product per year.

"The total investment in the project will amount to 8.3 billion tenge ($16.6 million). The new production capacity will allow processing up to 522 tons of vegetable oil, 431 tons of meal, 2.6 tons of phosphatidic concentrate, and 36 tons of granulated husk per day. The production line will be focused on processing up to 1,200 tons of sunflower, as well as 800 tons of rapeseed and flax seeds daily," said the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

Domestic agricultural producers and importers from Russia will be the main raw material suppliers.

"The launch of the new complex will allow the company not only to fully meet the domestic market demand for refined sunflower oil but also to establish export supplies. The finished products will be exported to Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, India, Italy, China, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Estonia," explained the Ministry of Agriculture.

The oil processors in Kazakhstan earlier proposed to indicate the presence of palm oil in products. Consumers have the right to know the composition of food products, the industry association believes.
