ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 26. The Government of Kazakhstan has allocated over 2.8 billion tenge ($5.32 million) for the reconstruction and modernization of the heat supply networks in the city of Zhezkazgan, Trend reports via the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
According to the information, the wear and tear of the city's heat supply networks, which span 388 km, stands at 56.6 percent.
"This negatively affects the heat supply to residential buildings, social facilities, and others. During the heating season, resource losses average 35-40 percent, which prevents the connection of new facilities to the centralized heating system," the government noted.
Considering the expansion of Zhezkazgan and the need to provide heating to the newly constructed Western District, the initial project for the reconstruction and modernization of the heat supply networks was adjusted by increasing the pipe diameter from 800 to 1000 millimeters. The length of the networks to be reconstructed has also been increased from 11.4 to 12.3 kilometers.
The allocated funds will allow for the completion of the project and ensure the proper preparation of the city's heat supply networks for the upcoming heating season, benefiting a population of more than 98,000 people.
