ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 26. Turkmenistan has placed over 280,000 kg of cotton yarn and raw textile fabrics for export at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET), signaling strong activity in its light industry sector.
Data obtained by Trend from SCRMET indicates that the largest individual lot came from the Kizilarbat region, where 110,000 kg of ring-spun cotton yarn (Nm 20/1, Ne 12/1) was listed at $10.53 per kg, reaching a total value of $1,158,300. Another 44,000 kg of ring-spun yarn (Nm 17/1, Ne 10/1) was offered at $10.26 per kg, bringing in $451,440.
Open-end yarns were also present in significant quantities. 75,500 kg of Nm 20/1 yarn and 49,500 kg of Nm 34/1 yarn were offered from Turkmenabad at prices of $1.87 and $1.97 per kg respectively, with a combined value of nearly $240,000.
In the textile fabric segment, 501.84 kg of raw cotton fabrics
with various weave densities were valued at $470.44 per kg,
totaling $220,812.68. A smaller lot of raw gabardine fabric, 1,000
kg, was priced at $3.88 per kg.
All offers were made with deferred payment terms under FCA
delivery, with origin points including Turkmenabad, Ashgabat, and
Kizilarbat. The diversity and volume of goods offered demonstrate
Turkmenistan’s growing capacity in cotton-based manufacturing.
