Tax revenues up 13 percent in Georgia in first quarter

Tax revenues in Georgia amounted to 1.13 billion lari ($ 1 = 1.74 lari) in the first quarter of 2010, which is 13 percent more than in 2009.

The Georgian government said that this trend will continue throughout the year.

The Georgian government predicts that tax revenues in 2010 will reach 4.4 billion lari.

According to the State Budget for 2010 approved in December last year, the projected rate of tax revenue is 4.38 billion lari.

According to the Ministry of Finance, tax revenues hits $ 4.26 billion lari in 2009, 4,54 million lari in 2008, 3,7 billion lari in 2007.
