Debt-hit Greece needs aid totalling more than the 45-billion-euro (60-billion-dollar) emergency line of credit agreed to last month by European leaders, officials in Berlin said, DPA reported.
The prospect of Greece requiring more funds than currently provided under the joint European Union-International Monetary Fund rescue plan comes as global markets step up the pressure on Europe's leaders for an early solution to the financial crisis engulfing Athens.
