Iran's import during first four months of current solar year (started on March 20,2011) reached $18.3 billion indicating 30 percent decline compared to the same period of previous year, IRNA quoted the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari as saying.
"Iran exported $13.3 billion cargo and its import dropped to $18.3 billion while 72 percent of country's import is provided by export revenue during the mentioned period," he said.
Iran's non-oil export in terms of value and weight had 13.7 and 42.6 percent growth respectively during the first four months of current solar year.
Iran's import during this period estimated at 10.9 million tons, while its cargo export including gas condensates estimated at 24.4 million tons.
According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Iran is the third largest country in the Middle East and Central Asia in terms of exports and imports.
