Two agreements on cooperation with Indonesia have been signed in Astana during the Kazakh-Indonesian Business Forum.
The first document, the Memorandum of Understanding between JSC KAZNEXT INVEST and the Council of Indonesia is on investments coordination. The second is between the oil and gas companies KazMunaiGas and Pertamina.
Minister of Industry of Indonesia Mohamad Hidayat said during the forum that his country is interested in supplies of Kazakhstan grain, as well as in the construction of a plant for the production of instant noodles in Kazakhstan.
"We also discussed issues of cooperation in the production of automobile tyres and construction of companies for the production of textiles," the minister said.
According to official figures the investment of Indonesia in Kazakhstan amounted to more than $500 million. The turnover showed an increase by 65 per cent, up from $23 million in 2010 to $35 million in 2011.
Kazakhstan ranks ninth by oil reserves, eighth by the reserves of coal and molybdenum, fifth in iron ore, a third of zinc, second with uranium and the premier reserves of chromium.
