Azerbaijan’s legal entities and individuals last year carried out trading operations with partners from 195 countries, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee.
Last year, products were exported to 122 countries and imported from 185 countries, according to the report.
Taking into account the statistical value of crude oil and natural gas exported by customs authorities the customs clearance of which hasn’t been fully completed, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $3.3 billion, including exports - $1.9 billion, and imports - $1.4 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $5.8 billion.
Compared to 2018, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover increased in terms of actual prices last year by 4.3 percent, in real terms - by 3.7 percent, imports decreased by 6.5 percent, exports – by 2 percent. During this period, non-oil products worth about $2 billion were exported from Azerbaijan last year, which is by 13.9 percent, and in real terms - by 7.8 percent more than in 2018.
Some 28.7 percent of exports accounted for Italy, 14.6 percent for Turkey, 6.8 percent for Israel, 4.9 percent for India, 4.7 percent for Germany, 3.8 percent for China, 3.7 percent for Russia, 3.6 percent for Spain, 3.3 percent for the Czech Republic, 3 percent for Georgia, 2.7 percent for France, 2.4 percent for the UAE, 2.2 percent for Croatia, 1.8 percent for Thailand and Portugal each, 1.7 percent for Ukraine and 10.3 percent for other countries.
The share of goods in the value of non-oil products exports mostly accounted for Russia (35.3 percent), Turkey (20.6 percent), Switzerland (9.2 percent), Georgia (8.1 percent), Ukraine (2.6 percent), Italy (2.2 percent), China (1.9 percent), Greece (1.8 percent), Uzbekistan (1.4 percent) and Iran (1.4 percent).
Some 16.8 percent of the total value of products imported into Azerbaijan accounted for Russia, 12 percent for Turkey, 10.5 percent for China, 9 percent for Switzerland, 5.6 percent for the US, 5.2 percent for Germany, 3.4 percent for Ukraine, 3.3 percent for Iran, 2.9 percent for Canada, 2.7 percent for Italy, 2.2 percent for Australia, 1.8 percent for France, 1.7 percent for the UK, 1.6 percent for Japan and 21.3 percent for other countries.
