Some 6 new greenhouses have been put into operation in Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan: Golden Age electronic newspaper.
The total area of greenhouses is 35 hectares. In particular, the greenhouses have been opened in Akhal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary regions of Turkmenistan.
The greenhouses are designed to produce 8,750 tons of vegetable products per year. With their introduction, about 400 new job places are created.
Greenhouses play an important role in maintaining food security in Turkmenistan. Private agricultural producers of Turkmenistan provide the domestic and foreign markets with various varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, strawberries, and some other food products.
Large-scale transformations are being carried out in Turkmenistan aimed at improving the efficiency of agriculture, the priority direction of which is the creation of greenhouses and enterprises for processing agricultural raw materials.
Thanks to state support, entrepreneurs and private enterprises in Turkmenistan not only supply domestic markets with high-quality products but also export them abroad.
