World oil prices are rising on Dec.19 on the reports about disruptions in Libyan oil supply, according to the trading data.
The price of February futures for Brent crude oil rose by 0.62 percent and stood at $55.55 per barrel as of 06:20 EST. This is while the price of January futures for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil increased by 0.66 percent to $52.24 per barrel.
Late last week, a group guarding oil infrastructure in Libya said it had reopened a long-blockaded pipeline leading from the oilfields of Sharara and El Feel, but a separate group had prevented a production restart at El Feel.
