Equity production of Eni S.p.A, an Italian multinational oil and gas company, from Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field in Kazakhstan is around 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (kboed), the company told Trend.

“Currently gross production is approximately 400 kboed (229 Kbbl oil) with an equity of around 100 kboed,” said Eni.

The Italian company said that starting from September 16, 2019 Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) is performing the major turnaround after the production slow-down.

“Production activities are forecasted to restart after 27 days with a production rump-up,” said Eni.

As for Kashagan field, the company said the First Major Statutory Turnaround since start-up (2013) was successfully carried out in 35 days (-10 vs Baseline plan) between April and May.

Eni equity production is around 100 kboed (51 Kbbl oil), said the company.

Karachaganak is one of the largest oil and gas condensate fields in Kazakhstan. Karachaganak Petroleum Operating produces oil and gas from the Karachaganak field. The shares in the consortium are as follows: Eni - 29.25 percent, Royal Dutch Shell - 29.25 percent, Chevron - 18 percent, Lukoil - 13.5 percent and KazMunayGas - 10 percent.

The total oil reserves of Kashagan reach 38 billion barrels, of which about 10-11 billion barrels are recoverable. At the same time, natural gas reserves exceed one trillion cubic meters.

Eni has been present in Kazakhstan since 1992. Eni is joint operator of the Karachaganak field and is an equity partner in various projects in the Northern Caspian Sea, including the giant Kashagan field. In 2018 Eni became joint operator in the exploration block Isatay, with the national company KMG.
