Russia's Gazprom may increase gas supplies from Turkmenistan to 5.5 billion cubic meters from 2020 through 2035, Trend reports, citing the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

In general, it is planned to increase the import of Central Asian gas to Russia to 26.6 billion cubic meters in 2021.

Last year, gas imports from Central Asia, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 26 billion cubic meters.

Gas supplies from Turkmenistan to Russia in 2019 amounted to 4 billion cubic meters.

Russia's Gazprom increased purchases of natural gas in Turkmenistan to 3.2 billion cubic meters from January through September of 2020 compared to 2.6 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2019.

At the same time, Gazprom reduced gas purchase in Kazakhstan to 5.1 billion cubic meters in the three quarters of 2020 from 8.2 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2019.

Gazprom purchased 20 million cubic meters of Uzbek fuel in the reporting period.
