BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 10. Azerbaijan produced 19.3 million tons of oil (including condensate) from January through August 2024, which is 4.9 percent less than the same period of 2023, the data of the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry said, Trend reports.
Thus, the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field block in the Caspian Sea produced 11.1 million tons of oil compared to 12.1 million tons in the first eight months of 2023; SOCAR production amounted to 5 million tons against 5.2 million tons from January through August 2023.
The data includes condensate (liquid hydrocarbon), which from January through August 2024 was extracted from the Caspian field “Shah Deniz” in the amount of 2.8 million tons (for eight months of 2023 it was 2.9 million tons) and from the field “Absheron” 0.4 million tons (this field has been developed since July 2023 and 90,000 tons of condensate were obtained from it in July-August 2023).
Azerbaijan produced 30.2 million tons of oil and condensate in 2023 and may extract about 30 million tons this year.
