BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 23. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) may assist Baku International Sea Trade Port (BISTP) in the digitalization of its operations, as well as in the development of projects related to environmentally friendly hydrogen, Trend reports via BISTP.
“Today Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Katsuya Watanabe, representatives of JICA and other Japanese cooperation programs visited the port in Alat and held negotiations with its management. The key point of the visit was a discussion between the Embassy of Japan and JICA on the development of new types of cooperation - in the field of environmentally friendly hydrogen, software, and digitalization of BISTP,” the information notes.
Ambassador Watanabe Katsuya emphasized the strategic role of Azerbaijan in connecting Central Asia with Europe through the international East-West route, adding that BISTP is an important segment in the economic development of Azerbaijan.
