ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 16. The volume of commercial gas production in Kazakhstan amounted to 29.8 billion cubic meters in 2023, said Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev during a government meeting, Trend reports.
"The volume of commercial gas production in Kazakhstan was 29.8 billion cubic meters in 2023. The plan for 2024 is also 29.8 billion cubic meters, with 14.9 billion cubic meters produced in the first half of the year, representing 50 percent of the 2024 plan," he said.
According to the minister, out of the total volume of commercial gas, 19.4 billion cubic meters were allocated for domestic consumption in 2023.
"The forecasted consumption volume for 2024 is about 20.9 billion cubic meters," Satkaliyev added.
In 2023, overall gas production in Kazakhstan totaled 59.063 billion cubic meters, with contributions from Tengiz (16.009 billion cubic meters), Karachaganak (22.385 billion cubic meters), Kashagan (11.856 billion cubic meters), and other fields (8.813 billion cubic meters).
Kazakhstan is projected to produce 60.456 billion cubic meters of raw natural gas in 2024.
