BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Freight transportation by all modes of transport in Kyrgyzstan significantly increased from January through September 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the committee, transportation of goods by all modes of transport in the first 9 months of 2022 amounted to 31.3 million tons, which is an increase of 35.4 percent over the same period in 2021 (23.1 million tons).
During the reporting period, freight transportation by road in Kyrgyzstan increased by 45.9 percent compared to the same period of last year (17.4 million tons) - up to 25.4 million tons.
As reported, rail freight transportation in the 9 months of this year reached 5.7 million tons, which is an increase of 5 percent over the same period in 2021 (5.4 million tons).
Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transported by pipeline from January through September 2022 amounted to 204,000 tons and by air - to 300 tons.
