Kyrgyzstan exceeds tax collection targets in first half of 2024

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 19. In Kyrgyzstan, 138.5 billion soms ($1.633 billion) in tax and insurance contributions were collected in the first half of 2024, exceeding the set target by more than 5.2 billion soms ($61.318 million), Trend reports.

The chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, announced these figures during a meeting of the State Tax Service at the Ministry of Finance, reviewing the first half of the year’s performance.

Japarov highlighted that during the reviewed period, state budget revenues from taxes and payments amounted to 101.2 billion soms ($1.193 billion), exceeding the planned 100.9 billion soms ($1.189 billion). This represents an increase of 16.8 billion soms ($198.107 million) compared to the same period last year. He attributed this significant improvement to the implementation of digital components.

The chairman also noted substantial progress in the use of cash register machines (CRM), with their numbers exceeding 100,000 - six times more than three years ago.

Additionally, Japarov emphasized that over the past three years, the implementation of various programs has led to notable advancements in tax administration, increasing the growth rate of tax collections by an average of 135 percent.
