BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 5. A plant for autoclaved aerated concrete in Kyrgyzstan's Batken region is nearly in the home stretch, sitting at 80 percent completion, and is on track to kick off operations later this year, Trend reports via the presidential representative office in the region.
On a 5-hectare plot of land in Khalmion village in the Kadamjay district, the plant is under construction. The same village will supply the raw materials.
The Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund will finance the project, estimating its total cost at $14.5 million. Once operational, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 160,000 cubic meters of concrete.
The first phase of the project will create around 150 jobs, with a total of 200 positions expected by the second phase.
German technology will construct the first gas concrete plant in Kyrgyzstan. A capsule-laying ceremony for the project took place on October 2, 2023.
This year, the region plans to welcome six large manufacturing enterprises.
Autoclaved aerated concrete is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional brick, made from natural materials. It is cost-effective, durable, and heat-resistant.
