BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 12. The first phase of construction at the Atbashi International Trade and Logistics Center (ITLC) in Kyrgyzstan’s Naryn region, located 100 kilometers from the Chinese border, has been completed, Trend reports.

According to the ITLC, the first stage included the construction of several key facilities, including a building for the Naryn Free Economic Zone and the State Customs Service.

The newly built office is equipped with the necessary infrastructure to expedite the customs clearance process, significantly simplifying customs control. The presence of the Customs Service on the premises will reduce cargo processing time and minimize logistics costs, the company stated.

Additionally, a branch of the state-owned Eldik Bank has been constructed to provide domestic and international money transfer services, customs payment acceptance, as well as vehicle financing and leasing options.

Also completed is the construction of offices for Kyrgyzpost, which will handle the delivery and processing of both mail and cargo within Kyrgyzstan and internationally.

A laboratory for vehicle technical inspections has also been completed, along with a weight control facility to track incoming cargo. Furthermore, temporary storage warehouses have been built, allowing clients to securely store their goods before further transportation or sale.

The proximity of the center to China makes it a strategically significant hub for regional trade. The center has already been granted status as a free economic zone and bonded warehouse, offering additional incentives for investors and entrepreneurs.

A presentation of the project is planned in Bishkek, as well as in several countries across the Gulf region, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Europe, and China.

The Atbashi ITLC project is being developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, with a "Build-Operate-Transfer" (BOT) approach.
