BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 13. Kyrgyzstan exported 13.8 tons of gold from January through October 2024, a 7.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the total value of gold exports reached $1.064 billion, which is a 32.2 percent year-on-year increase.
The majority of the gold was sold to the UK, which purchased 11 tons worth $870 million. China was the second-largest buyer, importing over 1.8 tons of gold valued at $129 million.
Moreover, Switzerland imported 971.4 kg of gold from Kyrgyzstan, worth $63.5 million, and the UAE purchased 13.5 kg, worth $881,900.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $13.4 billion from January through October 2024, which is a 6.4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Exports rose by 25.2 percent year on year to $3.123 billion, while imports increased by 1.8 percent to $10.310 billion.
