DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, May 6. As of today, 80 percent of the construction work on the Sebzor hydroelectric power plant (HPP) in Tajikistan has been completed, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.
The Tajik Minister Daler Jumah, visited the Roshtqal'a district in the Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region to review the progress of the project. The construction is advancing rapidly, with all resources mobilized to ensure the station’s completion by 2025.
During his visit, the minister instructed the responsible officials to maintain constant oversight of the construction, ensure strict adherence to deadlines, and ensure the quality of technical work, considering the strategic and social significance of this hydroelectric station.
The Sebzor HPP, with a capacity of 11 megawatts, is being built on the Shakhdara. Upon completion, the total energy potential of the Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region will increase by 25 percent. The project will ensure stable electricity supply for the local population and significantly enhance the socio-economic development opportunities in the region.
