ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 13. Enterprises in the Balkan region located in the west of Turkmenistan manufactured industrial products worth more than 13.6 billion Turkmen manats ($3.88 billion) from January through August this year, Trend reports.
According to official data, during these months, the enterprises of the region increased the production of industrial products by 6.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
During the designated period, the western socio-economic region, which is one of the country's energy centers and the main oil production region, increased the export of liquefied natural gas by 58 percent, the production of mineral fertilizers by 2.5 percent, and also demonstrated high production rates of technical iodine, dolomite, gypsum, carbon, sodium sulfate, and other products.
Meanwhile, the Balkan region is mainly an industrial territory where large industrial facilities of national importance, key oil fields, and infrastructure for the delivery of raw materials to domestic and external consumers are located.
