TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 11. The number of Uzbek tourists visiting Türkiye amounted to 123,000 from January through July 2024.
According to the data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, the most common reasons for tourists from Uzbekistan to visit Türkiye were leisure (95,140 people), business (1,009 people), visiting relatives (23,888 people), studying (1,240 people), and other objectives (1,696 people).
Meanwhile, the number of tourists from Uzbekistan traveling abroad amounted to 3.4 million from January through July 2024. This figure increased by 35.7 percent (890,500 people) compared to the same period last year.
Kyrgyzstan turned out to be the most popular tourist destination for Uzbek citizens (1.6 million people). Tajikistan came in second place with 676,400 visitors, closely followed by Kazakhstan with 526,400 visitors.
At the same time, the number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan amounted to 4.2 million, which is 15.3 percent (562,500 people) more than the same period last year.
