Iran will hold a parade on National Armed Forces Day April 18 with the participation of Iranian Air Force bombers and a new unmanned helicopter, Commander of the Iranian Ground Forces Brig. Gen. Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency.

The parade will demonstrate new achievements of the forces, including radar air defense and a new six-barrel machine gun, he said.

Pourdastan also noted that Iran has launched the full-scale production of the unmanned aircraft. The country will hold trainings with seven battalions in the south, he added.

The Iranian planes will be equipped with VIP-parachutes for the first time. Such precautions will be taken in connection with Polish President Lech Kaczynski's tragic death.
