BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 6. The executive director of Iran's Pars oil and gas firm reports that gas production has been restored from four wells on platform No.17 of the South Pars gas field (North Dome in Qatar), a joint venture between Iran and Qatar, Mohammad Hossein Motejali said, Trend reports.

He noted that 100 million cubic feet (about 2.83 million cubic meters) of gas is produced daily from four wells.

Motejali informed that some wells need to be repaired to maximize the platform's gas production. By repairing these wells and conducting well acid treatment, production has been restored.

To note, Iran has 24 phases of the South Pars gas field. Iran has started production in this field since 2002. It is reported that Iran is currently producing a total of 700 million cubic meters of gas per day from these phases. It is estimated that Iran has spent an estimated $90 billion on this field. It is noted that about 33 percent of the gas that can be produced from the gas field belongs to Iran. On the Iranian side, the fields have been developed by Iran, while on the Qatari side, the fields have been developed mostly by foreign companies.

The South Pars gas field (North Douma in Qatar) is a joint Iran-Qatar gas field. It is reported that this field has 51 tcm of gas reserves, of which 36 tcm of gas can be produced. Iran's share in this field is 14 tcm of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
