The Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti said Nov. 30 that he voted for "peace and harmony" in the parliamentary election in the country, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported.
"I voted for us to live in peace and harmony, and to realize all our bright dreams," Timofti said, urging all citizens to go to the polling stations.
According to the data from Moldova's Central Election Commission (CEC), some two percent of voters have voted at the polling stations as of 9:00 Moldova time (UTC/GMT +2 hours).
The CEC has not yet been able to update the data, as there were problems in the electronic system.
"All the data will be entered into the system within a short time. All polling stations have observers. In case of any violation, we will be informed, and for now there have been no remarks," the CEC Chairman Yuri Ciocan told reporters.
The parliamentary elections, taking place Nov. 30, involve 21 political parties, four independent candidates, and one electoral bloc, which are running for 101 seats in the parliament.
