During the raid against a plan of preparation for a coup "Balyoz" ("Sledgehammer"), former general in the Air Force Engil Alan was arrested in Turkey, the website of TV channel CNN Turk reported.
Earlier in February, the Turkish police arrested former deputy chief of General Staff of the armed forces Ergin Saygun and former Army General Cetin Dogan.
According to the governmental newspaper Taraf, Turkey's military men prepared a special plan "Balyoz". According to it, the current government, headed by Justice and Development Party will be overthrown by the explosions in Istanbul's mosques during Friday prayers, the explosion of the military museum and several fighter aircrafts of the Turkish Air Force. Such actions, responsibility for which would be loaded on Greece, would lead to chaos in the country and mass arrests, the newspaper said.
According to the publication, former general in the Turkish Armed Forces Cetin Dogan participated in preparing for the plan in 2002-2003 and its implementation.
