No reset between Russia and the USA is possible if the cost of these renewed relations is countries like Georgia and Ukraine, the Georgian Ambassador to the USA, Batu Kutelia, said.

"The U.S President, Vice-President, Secretary of State and other high officials have repeatedly underlined that no reset is possible if the cost of these renewed relations is countries like Georgia and the Ukraine," Kutelia told Trend .

Despite a warming in relations between the USA and Russia and the so-called reset, there are numerous disputes between both sides about the situation in August 2008.

"We have discussed Georgia's situation with the Russian President. And I repeated our conviction that Georgian territorial integrity and sovereignty must be respected. We do not agree with Georgia's current borders, but neither are we interested in military conflict. All these issues must be solved," U.S President Obama said at a joint press-conference during the visit to Moscow in July.

Military action was launched in the territory of the unrecognized republic of South Ossetia on August 8, 2008. Georgian troops entered the capital of South Ossetia - Tskhinvali. Afterwards, Russian troops occupied the city and drove the Georgian military back to Georgia. On August 26 Russia recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which are official parts of Georgia. Russia established diplomatic relations with Abkhazia and South Ossetia on September 9.

Reset-restart button is already pressed and if Russia becomes responsible partner to the United States and other countries, it is in our great interest as well, Kutelia said.

Kutelia said that recently we have launched U.S-GEORGIA commission on strategic partnership.

"Our bilateral cooperation is deepening and broadening. Georgia is a responsible member of the international community and it is important that International Community firmly follows the non-recognition policy of Georgia's occupied regions," Kutelia said.

"Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, it is guaranteed by international law. No country has a right to change internationally recognized borders of the other country," Kutelia said
