Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will visit Italy and the Vatican in late April.
Mammadyarov's visit to Italy is scheduled for April 28 upon Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini's invitation, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy Emil Karimov told Trend.
During his visit, Mammadyarov will meet with his Italian counterpart, as well as the country's economy minister, and discuss political and economic cooperation, Karimov said.
The meetings will focus on interrelation within regional and international cooperation.
Mammadyarov will visit the Vatican April 29 upon Holy See Foreign Minister, Archbishop Dominique Mamberti's invitation, Azerbaijani Ambassador to France and the Vatican Elchin Amirbeyov told Trend.
He will meet with Vatican officials and discuss bilateral cooperation, as well as the possible opening of a Holy See Embassy in Azerbaijan.
During his preparations for the visit, Amirbeyov informed the first deputy FM about the current situation surrounding the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, the OSCE Minsk Group's efforts, and Azerbaijan's position on the issue.
