BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 4. The positions of the Azerbaijani Army in Nakhchivan have once again been subjected to fire, Trend reports via the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan.

According to the ministry, on September 4, at 11:20 (GMT +4), the positions of the Azerbaijan Army units stationed in the direction of Havush settlement in the Sharur district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were subjected to fire from small arms by the Armenian armed forces units stationed in the opposite direction.

The Azerbaijani Army units took retaliatory measures in the direction mentioned.

Moreover, Armenian illegal armed detachments in the territory of Azerbaijan (which haven't yet been withdrawn from the country in violation of the trilateral statement signed by Azerbaijani, Armenian, and Russian leaders on November 10, 2020, following the second Karabakh war), where Russian forces are temporarily stationed (under the trilateral statement), attempted to dig new trench roads in order to approach the Azerbaijan Army positions stationed in the direction of the Khojavand district.

The conducted digging work was immediately stopped as a result of the urgent measures taken by the Azerbaijan Army units, added the ministry.
