Israeli Week Started in Azerbaijan

Opening ceremony of the Israeli Week in Azerbaijan has been held in the Azerbaijan University of Languages today. Amnon Koen - Israeli Vice-Speaker, Sofa Langver - Israeli MP, Artur Lenk - Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan, and others took part in the opening ceremony, Trend reports.

During the event, a documentary film of Azer Garib about Israel, as well as the movie Syrian Bride of Israeli cinematographers were shown.

Sammad Seyidov, Head of the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Delegation to PACE (Parlkiamentary assembly of Council of Europe) and Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, who took part in the event, said that Azerbaijan has good and friendly relations with Israel. There is an Israeli Centre in Baku. Students of the Azerbaijan University of Languages have a possibility to learn Hebrew, and Azerbaijani students are studying in Israeli now, he said.

Mr. Lenk expressed his gratitude to the Israeli Centre in Azerbaijan and organization Sokhnut for their assistance in holding the Israeli Week in Azerbaijan. He also said that during the Israeli Week, six Israeli films will be shown in Baku, Sumgayit, Lankaran, and Guba regions.
