BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. The number of employees in the banking sector has increased by 0.6 percent, or 153 people, reaching a total of 25,219 employees as of November 30, 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Central Bank shows that during the reporting period, 22 banks operating in Azerbaijan had 483 branches, 88 offices, and 3,200 ATMs.
To note, the total assets of the operating banks amounted to 50.2 billion manat ($29.5 billion), total liabilities were 43.7 billion manat ($25.7 billion), and equity capital was 6.5 billion manat ($3.8 billion). Since the beginning of this year, total assets have increased by two percent, total liabilities by 1.3 percent, and the equity capital of the banks by 7.2 percent.
