BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 30. Credit investments in Azerbaijan's economy reached 29.7 billion manat ($17.4 billion) as of April 1, 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) indicates that this represents an increase of 277 million manat ($162.9 billion) or 0.9 percent compared to the previous month, and a significant rise of 4.2 billion manat ($2.4 billion), or 16.6 percent, year-on-year.
Meanwhile, 7.2 billion manat ($4.2 billion) of the total credit investments were allocated by private banks in the reporting period, showing a growth of 65 million manat ($38.2 billion) or 0.9 percent from the previous month, and 1.3 billion manat ($764.6 million) or 20.9 percent compared to the same time last year.
Furthermore, the credit investments of private banks had reached 20.6 billion manat ($12.1 billion) by April 1, 2025, marking an increase of 219 million manat ($128.8 million) or 1.1 percent month-on-month, and 2.5 billion manat ($1.4 billion) or 13.9 percent year-on-year.
Additionally, non-bank credit organizations (NBCOs) had invested 1.8 billion manat ($1 billion) in credits as of April 1st, 2025. This is a slight decrease of 8 million manat ($4.7 million) or 0.4 percent compared to the previous month, but a notable increase of 462 million manat ($271.7 million) or 34.5 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
