The Georgian government intends to advance the pharmacology market and will take necessary legislative measures to do so, Prime Minister Nicolas Gilauri said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Feb. 26.

"Our task is to simplify entering the market and cut prices on medicine. This can only be done through competition," Gilauri said.

On Feb. 26, the prime minister promised to approve a preferable insurance market, which will enable citizens to receive medical care for only 20 lari.

"We will approve a program that will include all conditions to receive insurance," Gilauri said.

The prime minister emphasized an educational initiative to enable Georgian students to study abroad.

"We will seek to adopt a formula to help our students receive master's degrees abroad," Gilauri said.
