The National Confederation of Azerbaiajni Entrepreneurs and the Korean Administration of Small and Medium Businesses plan to sign protocol on mutual cooperation, President of the National Confederation, Mammad Musayev, said on August 27.

"The main aim is to conclude agreements on cooperation and to promote the export of Azerbaijani goods to Korea, and vice versa," Musayev said.

He said that at present, the Republic of Korea's share in Azerbaijan's total export is 6 percent and import even less. These figures are too small. They are planned to be significantly increased in the future, Musayev said.

The President of the Confederation said that Korean companies are mainly interested in the import of agricultural goods from Azerbaijan, such as pomegranate, grapes, wine and other products.
Musayev said that the Korean side is already negotiating with Azerbaijan in talks on cooperation in the agricultural industry.

At present, the business meeting between Azerbaijani and Korean businessmen on the "Export of Korean Construction Equipment" is being held in Baku. Over 100 Azerbaijani companies and 50 Korean companies are attending the meeting. The meeting was organized with the support of the Korean Embassy in Azerbaijan together with the Korean Administration of Small and Medium Businesses and the Korean Association of Construction Equipment Manufacturers. The purpose of the meeting is to promote the trade of construction equipment in both countries by finding new partners and expanding the industry's market.

"According to the negotiations held, Korean construction equipment can be sold in Azerbaijan by all forms of trade, including leasing," Musayev said.

Foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Korea hit $130.94 million in January-May. $37.56 million was import of goods and $93.38 million was export.
