Azerbaijan, Baku, Apr. 2 / Trend E.Ismayilov /
The technical problems that led to stopping traffic from the Azadlig Prospect metro station will not recur, Baku Metro head Tagi Ahmadov said at a press conference at the ruling New Azerbaijan Party's (NAP) headquarters.
"The closure of the electricity system March 31 was the first time such an incident had occurred in 42 years at the Baku Metro. I am sure such incidents will not recur," Ahmadov said.
He added that the Baku Metro has sufficient staff to monitor the power lines and even if such an incident does reoccur, the blame will fall entirely on the Baku Metro.
The Baku Metro has functioned since 1967. Seven of the 22 metro stations are deep laid.
